One of the most important goals is to establish a mentoring program involving all of the programs. Another goal is to see fifty programs established on the continent with the participation of 750 students. We really want to see a young generation trained and equiped to live as disciples, reaching all of Europe and we really believe that this is a new time for Europe. The discussions in Brussels were inspirational and we look forward to our next Conference in Paris , March 19th-21st, 2009.

MCE Director's Retreat Success!!!

The European Masters Commission directors retreat was held in Brussels, October 8th -11th. To hear great reports across Europe from Helge from Norway, Crystal from Kildare Ireland, Randy & Robin from Austria Vienna, Alicia from Copenhagen Denmark, Raija from Finland and Southport Master's Commission in England was not to be missed. Reports from Scotland, Spain, Estonia, France and Bosnia are showing continued growth in Master's Programs.

Here in Southport MC we have had the priveledge of hosting Kildare MC two weeks ago. What a great team, home church and director in Crystal. They can come and visit/work with us any time and we hope to get to visit Kildare in the next Master's year.

Our students are coming to the end of their Bible course studies for the year and are in final preparations for two mission trips. The first is in Poland working with a national youth conference called 'Radical'. The second with an Assemblies of God church plant in Peterborough which is going to be a productive time of schools work, children's ministry and profile raising for the church plant.

What a great year. This fresh wind has blessed and reached the Northern part of Amsterdam. A team of 18 students and staff left from sunny Fort Myer’s in Florida to join our small crew of MCAN. Together we have worked for 2 weeks in our neighbourhood through street evangelism, student’s surveys on the free ferry and much more.

Pastor Art preaching at the youth event.

Meanwhile we have been blessed working with our local church Agape in multiple ministries; one evening different youth groups gathered together for a great youth event and a week later we all left for a 3 days youth camp in an Island called Ameland in the highest part of The Netherlands. Through fellowship, bible studies, preaching and human videos the Lord has reached the youth of Agape formed by more than 80 young people. Many of these youth have consecrated their lives back to God but even more exiting some of them have given their lives to God and decided to follow His command of the water baptism.

So much has happened in just 2 weeks and as you can see this hurricane has brought much more than a simple wind; a total renewing.

We can’t wait till September comes; we trust that new doors will open for people and students who are willing to get to know God and make Him known in The Netherlands.

SMC Update

2nd year Melissa Gipson sharing in a Religious Education class about role models

February 27th - March 2nd, SMC had the opportunity to do a schools and youth outreach mission to Leek, UK. Over the course of two days the students went into 2 different schools in the community doing over 12 Religious Education classes and assemblies. Every evening SMC went into various youth clubs and youth groups reaching out to the youth of the community through dramas, games, and sharing Christ. On the Saturday, the team was able to do an open air outreach in the Leek marketplace. It was very encouraging to come alongside the already very active outreach team at Leek Pentecostal Church and to see crowds gather as SMC students did different sketches and our 2nd year, Holly Gell, shared about her own experience in coming to know God. Sunday was a great day spent serving Leek Pentecostal church through testimonies, human videos, dramas, and the word, brought by our assistant director, Dawn Zmuda.

Part of the SMC team doing a sketch (skit) in an open air outreach in the marketplace

The mission to Leek was not only a great chance for us to be a blessing to another church and community in the UK, but our students were given the opportunity to grow and be stretched in their ministry capabilities. SMC as a programme has also benefited though one of the Leek Pentecostal youth deciding to apply to SMC for next year. Over all the trip was an amazing opportunity and experience.

We are looking forward to the MCE conference in Iceland and now preparing for two short term missions trips. Our first is to Poland at the end of April where we will do youth outreach and support one of the nation’s largest youth conferences. The second is at the end of May in Brighton, UK where we will help a church plant run a holiday club for the kids in their community. The next two months leading up to graduation are going to be a very active and exciting time with many opportunities to continually getting to know God and making Him known.
MC Kildare - St. Patty's Day

On Monday the 17th of March, which just so happens to be St. Patrick's Day, we had the opportunity to be part of an outreach here in Newbridge. There was a huge parade happening in the town that we were a part of. We passed out about 1500 fliers to the 20,000 people watching the parade.

Not only did our own students pass out fliers and leaflets, but we had kids from the church, and young people from the youth club also helping to get the word out about Open Arms Community Church. It was great to see the response of the people in the community. It’s very rare to see a church that is lively, passionate, and fun. It was obvious that we were a light in the community, representing Christ in a way they had not seen before.

There was a lot of preparation that went into the floats and vehicles involved in the parade, but it was well worth it. We had a blast putting it all together and being a part of such a huge outreach.

CIMC - What's Been Happening...

This year we have made a change in CIMC that allows each student to choose a department in our church to intern with. By choosing an internship with a specific department, the student is able to focus on an area of ministry that they have a passion for and are gifted in. This opportunity has proven to be extremely beneficial for CIMC, the student, and the department leaders. The students are able to really get submersed in church leadership on both a practical and spiritual level. Here is what some of student and department leasers have to say about internships this year:

Gerda Parkja

- 1st year, Estonia

"My internship is with Klippen, an outreach to drug addicts and prostitutes in the Red Light District of Copenhagen. Klippen is great! It allows me to see people`s lives changing and to be a part of it and that`s really exciting. It also challenges me to talk to total strangers and people who I`m actually afraid of which is sometimes really hard. This internship has really given me a desire in my heart to do something more for God."

Katrine Høgenhaug
- Worship Pastor

"As a leader of worship and production in the church I have an intern from CIMC connected to my department. So far it has been a great privilege for me to be able work with an intern.
It is a good practical help in the everyday life and work, but it is also a good challenge for us to think of projects and educational activities for our intern to be involved with. I am receiving some really good feedback from our intern. She finds it very interesting to work behind the scenes, getting an idea of what it takes to work with worship and production.

It definitely takes an effort from both the department and the intern to make the internship successful, but the outcome is great and absolutely worth it."

Aaron Murphy
- 2nd year, USA

"Being a CIMC Intern has been pretty cool, and has given me the opportunity to step into a leadership role that is unique and exciting. As a Masters Intern I've been a part of the CIMC staff meetings and the vision process. I love having the opportunity to be creative and use my gifts to try to impact the program. As an intern we are always challenged by the need to live authentically. We live in a very close community and as a leader you learn quickly the importance of being real and dealing with things properly. I have been stretched and challenged daily in my walk with Christ and in my
role as a leader. Being a CIMC intern is definitely not the easiest thing I cold have done but I believe it was by far the most beneficial."

ACMC - Missions Trip

Very early in the morning on Friday, February 15th, 17 of Findland's Masters Commission Students were sent out to Savonlinna, Findland. Our first year students and a few "MC pre-schoolers" were especially excited about the trip, because it was the first trip they've experienced. They traveled 10 hours and arrived in Savonlinna by the afternoon. While my students were traveling the 10 hours to Savonlinna, I was having a few delays from my flight in the USA to Findland and would have to meet up with them the next day. Because of this some changes had to be made for the service that evening. My Staff member, Miria Vauhkala spoke in my absence and did a great job.
We had been invited to a weekend event the church has monthly called, "Let God's winds blow", by our former school pastor, Anssi, and our former staff member here at MC, Satu. They now serve in Savonlinna Pentecostal church as youth pastors.
Friday Evening was the first meeting, which was called "a youthful evening", but was still open to all ages. Third year students planned the evening. It was about being in the presence of God. On Saturday we had an activity day. Two Activities were given for the youth to choose from. The first activity was, art therapy and the second was a human video. After that "Amazing Grace Savonlinna" followed. This was an activity where groups of 2 had to follow clues and do tasks all around Savonlinna, similar to the tv program, Amazing Race. In the evening we had another meeting where I preached and the MC students had two human videos based on a staff members own life. They were very moving. The youth who had attended the human video activity during the day participated with total praise that night. On Sunday I preached again, and gave an opportunity for personal testimonies. There was also one worship dance included in the service, by one of the staff members, and a human video called, "It's going to be worth it", which summed the whole weekend up; serving God is going to be worth it all.
As usual, in all of our meetings, we had personal testimonies, human videos, and praise dances. We also served in prayer, by praying for the people the way we felt the Spirit was leading us. It was very delightful to see our first year students boldly praying for the people there. We have been so blessed to of served in Savonlinna this weekend. We were able to see God at work not only the people we were serving, but also in our own lives. I personally felt that God was very strongly present during the weekend, touching people's lives. I'm very grateful to Jesus for this weekend in Savonlinna.

MCIN Conference

Jeremy DeWeert kicked off the MCIN Conference speaking on the Thursday morning. I believe this was one of the significant high lights of the conference for all. The evening was followed up by a 45 minutes human video that was just amazing. It has to be seen to be believed, just incredible. The human video carried a message about what holds us back from God's purposes in our lives. You have to see it and be blown away.

Lloyd Z announced a significant change to the conference. 2009 MCIN conference moves to three dates at three location in Phoenix, Texas and Orlando. Lloyd shared about the growth of Master's and were the conference started some years ago with just a hand full of people meeting in a choir room. It is great to be a part of and see what God is going through Master's in the States.

The MCE board also had the opportunity to meet with the MCIN board during the conference. It was a great time of relationship building and vision casting for the future of MC across Europe.

April brings on our MCE conference in Iceland. It is going to be a significant powerful time not to be missed. The MCE board, Oli and the Iceland Master's program have been working hard on hosting a great conference that will be building into the ministry of Master's all over Europe. See you there.

Simon Cunningham
Southport Master's Commission
